Refund Policy
Effective July 12, 2026. We want you to pay only for something you actually use and value. Questions? Contact us.
The short version
- Try KernelFold free first — the free plan needs no credit card, so you never have to pay to find out if it works for you.
- First time subscribing? You have a 14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked.
- Forgot to cancel before a renewal? Tell us within 7 days and, if the new cycle's tokens are unused, we'll refund it in full.
- Duplicate or incorrect charges are always refunded in full.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe, typically within 5–10 business days.
1. Try before you pay
KernelFold has a permanent free plan that requires no payment details. We encourage you to evaluate the product on the free plan before subscribing — it exercises the same multi-model pipeline as the paid tiers, with a smaller monthly token allowance.
2. First subscription: 14-day money-back guarantee
If this is your first paid subscription with KernelFold and it isn't what you expected, email us within 14 days of the first charge and we will refund it in full — no questions asked, regardless of usage. This guarantee applies once per account, to your first paid period only.
3. Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically each month. If you meant to cancel but the plan renewed, contact us within 7 days of the renewal charge: if the new billing cycle's tokens are substantially unused, we will refund the renewal in full. If you have already used a meaningful portion of the cycle's tokens, we may offer a partial refund at our discretion.
4. Cancellation is not a refund — but you lose nothing
You can cancel any time from your billing page. Cancellation stops future charges; your plan, tokens, and access remain active until the end of the period you have already paid for. Because you keep full access through the paid period, we do not pro-rate refunds for mid-cycle cancellations (outside the guarantees above).
5. Charges that should never have happened
Duplicate charges, charges after a confirmed cancellation, or amounts that don't match your plan are our mistake and are refunded in full, whenever you report them.
6. Outages and service problems
We engineer for resilience with automatic failover across model providers, and live health is public on the status page. If a significant platform outage on our side materially prevented you from using a paid period, contact us — we'll make it right with a token extension or a partial refund.
7. When we may decline a refund
We may decline refunds for accounts terminated for violating the Terms of Service (for example abuse, fraud, or attempts to circumvent usage accounting), and for repeated refund-and-resubscribe patterns that indicate abuse of this policy.
8. Your statutory rights
If you live in the EU, UK, or another region with mandatory consumer-protection rights (such as a statutory withdrawal period), nothing in this policy limits those rights. Where local law grants you more than this policy does, local law wins.
9. How refunds are paid
All payments are processed by Stripe, and refunds are issued to the original payment method. Once we approve a refund, Stripe usually completes it within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. We cannot refund to a different card or account than the one charged.
10. How to request a refund
Email [email protected] from the address on your account (or include it), with the approximate charge date. The invoice number from your Stripe receipt helps but isn't required. We read and answer every message, typically within one business day.
